I have an access control to keep some historical data. Any change is not allowed. So I made them show in view mode only. In suneido client, field controls are deactivated in view mode and they don’t respond to users’ clicks anymore. For example, you can’t click the date control to bring up the calender box, you can’t click the IdControl or KeyControl to show further relevant information. Very often is that the user needs to inspect the data by interacting with the controls, it’s just they don’t need to change the existing data.
My question is, is it possible to enable the controls in view mode so that users can still interact with them, only deactivate the function of changing data?
Yeah, that is not ideal. There is no option to change that.
There is a right click option for Access on Id/Key controls
It would make sense to be able to see the calendar for a date
Most other controls do not have much more they could show.
ah ok, I didnt notice the ‘access’ button after right click. Thanks for pointing that out.
It would be nice to just let the default dropdown button do the task.
I personally think that may offer a more consistent and user friendly experience from a UI point of view.
Anyway, just my own opinion.
